Meet the Author
Joie-May Silvers is a writer with a passion for all things weird and wonderful. A 2025 Author Fellow of Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing and winner of the 2021 Long Beach Literary Women's Emerging Writer award, you can find her work in Calliope, Plain China, Sapere Aude, and Ouroboros Magazine. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the speculative fiction magazine, Ouroboros, in her senior year at Chapman University, during which time she accomplished many firsts, including but not limited to bringing the magazine to print, hosting the inaugural end of semester launch party, and creating the Ouroboros October contest. She earned a BFA in Creative Writing with a minor in Honors Studies from Chapman, and she now lives in Los Angeles with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Scottie and Pigwidgeon.
